MAISL Tournament Information
2010-2011 Basketball
As we find out dates for the independent basketball tournaments hosted by MAISL schools we will post them here for your review. We ask that you look at these if you plan to participate remembering that if it is a "Request Only Event" you must ask for a No Play on the dates of that event.
>>> IMPORTANT - READ THIS -- Please keep in mind that if your team does not enter an event that is listed as a league wide black-out date they then may be scheduled for league games against other teams that decided not to enter that same event. <<<
Please remember that the ONLY event your team is automatically entered into is the MAISL End of Season Tournament for the league they participate in. For all other events your school/team must submit an entrance application.
Three (3) event rule clarification: NEW
Diocese of Madison policy allows for our teams to participate on three (3) tournaments per season and MAISL has adopted this as our policy as well. The three (3) tournament limit does NOT include the MAISL End of Season Tournament as defined by Supt of Schools for the Diocese of Madison - Mr. Michael Lancaster. If a school/team violates this policy it will be considered a "flagrant violation" eliminating that team from participation in their MAISL End of Season Tournament. The school/team will be fined $250.00 for non-participation in that event. If the violation is deemed "severe" by the MAISL Executive Board the team could be removed from MAISL competition, the coach suspended not only for the balance of the current season but banned from participation in all sports for the following school year.
Teams may participate in other outside tournaments as long as they are either before or after the MAISL Season (assuming that teams do not practice or participate in these events prior to MAISL's "first day of practice" as set by the MAISL Board). MAISL would ask that you contact your school administrator regarding any participation in outside events. They can also show you a copy of the policy in the Diocesan Policy Handbook.
The dates for our MAISL End of Season Tournaments will be set when schedules are complete. We must know the size of each league and the number of games to be scheduled before we can block out dates and sites for these MAISL events.
2010-2011 No Play requests are to be submitted by your school no later than October 27th. If you are a coach who is interested in having your team participate in one of these events please make sure you contact your School Office, Athletic Association or MAISL Rep before that date telling them of your interest.
As we receive more tournament dates we will post them here for your review. Also, when host schools provide MAISL with Tournament Applications we will add that to the posting on this page and make the application vailable to everyone on the Documents Page so you can print out and apply for these events
